Tickets are now on sale for the new Gershwin musical comedy Nice Work If You Can Get It, starring Tony winner Matthew Broderick and three-time Tony nominee Kelli O’Hara. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, Nice Work If You Can Get It features a new book by Joe DiPietro and a score of classic and George and Ira Gershwin songs. The production begins previews on March 29 and opens April 24 at the Imperial Theatre.
Nice Work If You Can Get It is the story of wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter (Broderick), who falls in love with rough-and-tumble bootlegger Billie Bendix (O’Hara) on the weekend of his wedding. The new musical features a score of Gershwin hits, including “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” “I’ve Got a Crush on You” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.”
In addition to Broderick and O’Hara, Nice Work If You Can Get It features Judy Kaye, Michael McGrath, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Terry Beaver, Robyn Hurder, Stanley Wane Mathis, Estelle Parsons, Chris Sullivan, Cameron Adams, Clyde Alves, Kaitlyn Davidson, Jason Depinto, Kimberly Faure, Robert Hartwell, Stephanie Martignetti, Barrett Martin, Michael X. Martin, Adam Perry, Jeremy Schecter, Jennifer Smith, Joey Sorge, Samantha Sturm, Kristen Beth Williams and Candice Marie Woods.
The creative team for Nice Work If You Can Get It includes music director Tom Murray, scenic designer Derek McLane, music supervisor and arranger David Chase, costume designer Martin Pakledinaz, lighting designer Peter Kaczorowski, sound designer Brian Ronan and orchestrator Bill Elliott.
